Subject: Leading the next chapter of our Journey to Excellence
To our valued stakeholders,
As I officially assume my role as CEO today, I am excited to continue the journey that our founder and Executive Chairman Chris Borch began in 1983. We have in place a strong foundation to continue our Journey to Excellence, thanks to Chris’ leadership and the steadfast support of our employees, customers, business partners, and investors over the past forty years. I am fortunate to have been part of this journey for nearly 15 years, having started as an engineering apprentice before becoming a full-time engineer and then Deputy CEO in 2023. Each experience has not only strengthened my passion for solving problems, but also my love for the company and admiration for our people who Make Everything Happen.
While leading Micro-Mechanics will be a new challenge, the pursuit of excellence continues to inspire and motivate me. On a personal level, I see this pursuit as key to a satisfying, purposeful, and meaningful life. On an organisational level, I view excellence as a strategic imperative to protect our enterprise value and drive sustainable growth.
Our ‘Five-Star Factory’ initiative provides a clear blueprint to accelerate excellence in five critical areas and propel our business into the next forty years. We have made encouraging progress since its launch, as reflected by our strong financial performance with group revenue and net profit up year-on-year in the first three quarters of FY2025.
As we continue implementing this initiative, we must remind ourselves of two guiding principles:
#1: We Will Pursue Excellence in Everything We Do: Micro-Mechanics exists to solve our customers' most critical needs. Thus, we must strive to be a problem-solving company, built on high-performance teams that are committed to delivering their personal best. With this commitment, we can delight customers with ‘Five-Star’ solutions that support industry advancement.
#2: Our Goal is to “Be the Best”, Not the Biggest: Becoming a Five-Star Factory isn’t about chasing every opportunity. Instead, we will focus on high-value challenges where we can lead the market with innovative solutions, flawless quality, and fast support. Our mission is simple: Perfect parts and tools, on time, every time – based on scalable, repeatable, cost-effective, and data-driven processes.
The semiconductor industry is undoubtedly demanding, but I am optimistic about the long-term potential for Micro-Mechanics. We have a skilled and passionate team supported by dedicated leaders, and we are in an dynamic industry with amazing customers and investors. I’m honoured to be working alongside you and look forward to the opportunities we’ll continue to unlock together on our Journey to Excellence.
